Join us as we host an art exhibit of William Solon Porter, who referred to himself as “The Sagebrush Artist” located on a claim near Fargo (then Whitehead) in 1900 when he jumped off a freight train coming from Woodward. He saw people from everywhere taking up land claims and decided to join them, claiming land just south of town where he farmed (and painted) over the remainder of his life.
We have 5 of his art pieces in the collection that we can’t wait to share with you again. The art exhibit, “The Prairie Palette of William Solon Porter,” will be something you don’t want to miss. We are gathering some other pieces from a local business and community members. This exhibit will open on Saturday March 7th and will run through Saturday March 28th.
