Coming in June of 2026 is the art of Gary Leddy to the Robert Roberson Exhibition Gallery inside the Plains Indians and Pioneer Museum. Leddy’s childhood was spent in the western Oklahoma by the Canadian River. From his early environment his interest in art developed. As Gary entered college, without hesitation he began working on an art major. He graduated from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma with a B. A. degree in art. After serving in the army Gary continued his art studies at the Institude Allende, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. There he received his M. F. A. degree in painting with a minor in sculpture.
Living on his working ranch gives Gary Leddy first hand opportunity to witness the wonders of man, animals and wildlife. In his art he enjoys creating fluid movement with welded steel. This welding process involves acetylene welding with a frame or model constructed of ruds. After the frame or model is developed, the piece is covered with sixteen gauge sheet metal. The finished piece is cropped and brass plated, then oxidized to create the ultimate product. Having won several awards he is most proud of the Silver Medal from the National Sculpture Society, New York, for a metal sculpture.
Prominent people throughout the United State and Canada have procure Gary Leddy's paintings and sculptures, such as former president Lyndon B. Johnson and former Governor, Henry Bellmon. From New York to San Francisco, Florida to Canada Gary's artistic talents are on exhibition. You will find his work in Universities, Galleries, bank lobbies and municipal buildings.

Come to the opening of the exhibition during Rodeo City’s Western Art Week June 9th through the 13th. We will be having a reception on Saturday June 13th from 2-4PM as part of a collaboration for Rodeo City’s Western Art Week in conjunction with the Woodward Elks Rodeo. Unfortunately the artist is not able to attend but we plan to still highlight the art and celebrate the Western way of life.
